Recycle This was founded in April 2006 and is run by Louisa Parry and John Leach, two best friends from West Yorkshire, UK. The site aims to throw a positive spin on recycling, inspire practical and creative ideas and help people get started thinking about related green issues. As of the end of 2010, we have asked “How can I recycle this?” for over 900 items and have received over 14,000 suggestions in reply.

We are frequently mentioned in the green press and on green websites around the world. We are frequently mentioned in The Times (including a mention in their ‘the web we loved’ round-up of 2006) and have also been mentioned in the Guardian, Telegraph and Easy Living magazine, as well as in the local press around West Yorkshire.

As well as the obvious green nature of the content, the site is technologically ‘green’ too: it is entirely created and run using Free and Open Source software (FOSS) and all photographs taken for illustrations on the site are available to use under the Creative Commons (Attribution) licence (through either Flickr or sxc.hu).
