Interesting Reducing, Reusing and Recycling links
This week’s quick link round-up:
- Amber of Berlin’s Whimsy has a tutorial for making washable covers for Swiffer-style floor sweepers out of old towels
- If our soggy garden is anything to go by, it’s possibly a little late for this now but if you’ve still got pretty dry leaves, you can make them into a bouquet of “roses”
- Crafting a Green World has some useful documentation on calculating the fabric yardage from old bedding
- Make candles from old cooking oil/fat – two methods: one using salt, the other using a wire coil to support the wick
- Finally something that both is and isn’t recycling – how to save seeds from this year’s soft veg to plant next year.
The idea of making roses from maple leaves is awesome! I’ve never seen anything quite like that. And thanks for sharing my post on saving tomato seeds. Always a fun little project to be done!
Recycling tyres…. I have seen people making satchel type school bags with them with metal rivets and even gothic/punk spikes for effect. Also as wallets and even flip-flop/thong sandals.
Recycling CD’s. Smashing them up, layering them and melting/fusing them into pendants or dropper beads.
What a wonderful way to keep on using the swiffer. I have kept mine but not used it because of the disposable sheets being so wasteful. This is liberating. Thanks.
I love what you guys are up too. This kind of clever work and exposure!
Keep up the awesome works guys I’ve included you guys to blogroll.
