How can I reuse or recycle chalk?
Last week, the incredibly eloquent “matheus” left a question in the comment section on our of our posts:
how the f*ck do i recycle chalk?
As someone with a penchant for using 100 words when three will do, I like his succinctness.
So suggestions?

not exactly a recycle but for a crafty use, it can be broken up and added to wax to colour candles
I hear it will prevent silver from tarnishing.
I was catching up on my feeds and the next one after this one had this post.
http://feeds.b5media.com/b5media/SimplyThrifty many uses of chalk about 1/2 way down the page.
Chalk works well to deter ants from marching all over your house in the spring. Draw a heavy chalk line around the perimeter of a room or cabinets, wherever they are entering the room, they don’t like to cross it. It’s non-toxic and easy to clean up when not needed anymore.
Using a fine cheese grater make it into powder, keeping the colours separate. “Draw” a design on a piece of paper or card with glue, and sprinkle the different colours on to the glue, blowing away the excess.
Bring them to a lower income area during the summer months and let the children draw up a storm.
You could burn it, slake it, and then make plaster or stucco :)
give it to a local school or kids club
Is a CHALK can be recycled & WHAT is the procedure ?
Powder it, put it in a bag with some salt, shake it like a polaroid picture, and then you’ve got colored sand.
one chalk is not fully used by user.the small piece from each chalks are being wasted in class rooms, because when the chalk become small it is not comfortable to hold and use.My question is “why not,we cant create new chalk from those small chalk pieces?by recycling”.one chalk price might be 5rs,if we make this,we can reduce the cost and aas well as wastages!
thn is it possible to recycl the small chalks to new one?
